Emergency Food Storage!

Realize that there are several levels, to develop your cache of emergency food. First there is your trickle of usual items, that you buy week-by week. That accumulates into a 1-month's supply.

Then there is your 2-month supply, then your 3-month, and so forward.

Til now we are stashin only your usual items, many of which have a fairly short shelf-life. You keep on like this, until you have enough food, water, and money for a full year.

Next, you begin the 2nd phase of your emergency food storage plan, which is to buy a 1-year's supply of your bulk items, normally the "big 4". These are wheat, salt, honey or sugar, and powdered milk. These last 4, rightly packed, can stay unopened for as many as 30 years.
